Happy at home as a family of 4

We came home today mid morning! It's nice to be here and not nearly as chaotic as I had so wildly imagined. I'm sure there are wild days to come but our sweet home has been calm and relaxing. After getting some lunch we ALL took a nice 3 hour nap! It was great!

Ella has been amazing with her hew little brother! She is quite concerned when he cries and loves to sit close and hold his hand when he's feeding.

Such a sweet day

We had such a sweet night and day today! Each time I hold him close I seem to see a new feature that is so precious! You can see his blond hair in these pics. I just can't seem to get over his pouty chin and turned up little nose! Mostly I see Brian in him so it will be neat to see how he changes as he grows!
Yes he does actually open his eyes I just haven't been able to catch it on camera yet! They are dark blue!... for now.

Lucas and I are both doing so well! We plan to head home mid morning tomorrow and attemp life with two children!

Lucas Weston Bare

He is Here!!!!
Lucas Weston Bare was born today, May 7, 2008 at 7:17pm. Weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces and 19 inches long.

We came to the hospital at 1:00 and started pitocin at 2:30. Dr Shaya came and broke my water around 4:00 I think and I asked for the epidural soon after. I only had to push for about 20 minutes and then Little Lucas was in my arms! We had an incredible nurse and most of all Brian was such a help to me! He was at my side every minute and a constant encouragement to me when I was just ready for the end to come.

Lucas is so sweet and has a nice head of blond hair. He is sleeping peacefully at the moment but I'm sure he'll be ready to nurse again soon.

Ella came with my parents and she was very eager to see baby Lucas and really enjoyed holding him (with Daddy's help). She talked to him and gave him a sweet kiss. She doesn't seem to be distant from me at all which was a relief to my heart because I did tell myself she might not be happy with my attention on him.

It was really a blessed day and we are thankful for God's loving and gracious hand upon every moment.

Enjoy the pictures!!

Hooked up

It's almost 3:00pm and I am finally hooked up to the moniters and IV for pitocin! The beds the hospital had open this morning were filled with ladies in labor so we had to wait for another bed to open this afternoon. We came in around 1:00 and now that I am set up it's just a matter of waiting for the labor to get started! I am thankful that it still looks like we will have this baby today!

As I was at home this morning waiting I was reminded by my dear Mother that we may make plans but it is the Lord's plan that will be done. Proverbs 16:9 "The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps."

So as I sit and wiat for the pain to begin I will get to spend some sweet time with Brian. We may watch a movie or just chat. ...More to come!

Change of plans

I got a call from the hospital this evening to let us know that they are so full in the OB that they wouldn't have a room available for me tomorrow at 6:30. They will be calling me after morning discharge to let me know when I can go in. It should be mid morning but maybe as late as noon. So as I mentioned before, God will (and is) supplying grace to us.

Tomorrow is The Day

Yesterday I had my last OB appointment. We are still set to be induced tomorrow! Brian and I will go to Jupiter Medical Center at 6:30am. My parents will come to stay with Ella. One of my doctors will come soon after getting settled to break my watter and start Pitocin. Or as Dr. Kaufman calls it "vitamin P" :o) As of my check up yesterday I have dilated to 3cm and am 75% effaced and the baby is almost to a -1 station. He said that he didn't think we would have to use too much pitocin and that it should be a smooth and easy induction. Especially knowing how well my delivery was when Ella was induced. (only about 5 hours from start to end) So I was very encouraged by the visit with Dr. Kaufman and I'm super excited about meeting our little Lucas!

We are resting in knowing that God will give grace for anything that might come our way with this labor and delivery and are already rejoicing in the gift of life we will get to experience!

We will post details and pictures as soon as we can so check back soon!
